About Heather Thomas

Heather Thomas is an independent artist whose passion for music and dedication to her craft drive everything she does.

Originally from Seattle, Heather built a name for herself as a drummer and songwriter before embarking on a solo career that led her to Nashville. Along the way, she’s toured with Grammy-nominated artists like Mary Lambert and opened for top acts such as Pharrell and Ariana Grande.

But it’s her deep commitment to authenticity and creative independence that truly sets her apart. Her upcoming album Dig On Down, releasing November 29th, is a roots heavy sonic masterpiece with Thomas stepping out from behind the drumkit to belt ballads and driving tracks alike. Each song captures a piece of her journey, both personal and musical, reflecting her evolution since moving to Nashville.

With both the album and exclusive merchandise available for pre-order, Heather continues to forge her own path, staying true to the music she feels compelled to create.

Heather is releasing full length album Dig On Down November 29th at Dee’s Lounge in Nashville, TN

What People Are Saying

“Heather was my first drum instructor and was SO patient and supportive as I navigated my fears of messing up and my elation over learning to play. She explained the what's, why's and wherefores of drumming which helped me understand the craft and motivated me to follow her directions. She was quick to identify my strengths and weaknesses which made each lesson a glorious challenge and satisfying for me. She's a great instructor.”

—Jolene Metcalf, drum student

“Her lessons are both challenging and fun. She has also been so helpful in working with me to develop short- and long-term goals and teaching me the basic tools to move towards attaining those goals. Thank you Heather!”

What People Are Saying

“My first time working with Heather she learned an entire 12 song set 5 hours before flawlessly performing it to a sold out crowd. In the studio she's a dream - can find the pocket perfectly right out of the gate, can learn complex parts incredibly quickly, can improvise in jaw-dropping ways during takes, is incredibly receptive to suggestions/direction, and in addition to the kit she is an amazing asset on auxiliary percussion parts. She plays what you want to hear 100 times better than you're hoping for. A calm, funny, kind presence, a complete professional, and an absolutely killer player in any genre you can throw her way. I hire Heather any time she's available and it's always the easiest decision to make.”

—Timothy Van Buren, recording/performing artist

“Heather naturally cultivates such a healthy environment, that combines challenge, positivity, and a knack for what's best for the flow of the song and the session. She has a really unique ability to keep things in the moment and lively, while always edging towards them being extraordinarily thought out and flushed out. Being in the studio with her is energizing, productive, and inspiring to anyone in the room, which ultimately translates to the listener."

— Eric Lilavois, producer
